us
Hepworth
Computer Services (HCS)
started operations in 1982, by founder, Tony Hepworth, in Newton
Green, Suffolk. In 2006 The HCS central office is now based in the
finest mediaeval town in England, Lavenham in Suffolk. HCS also
has associate offices of family members in Stourbridge and Harrogate
in England and in Singapore.
HCS
offers a wide range of computer and artwork services, which are
detailed on the services page of this website. The range of ages
and skills available from the family offices means that one or other
of them is likely to meet the most demanding requirements.
HCS
began as a one-man operation, using state of the art personal computers
of the time. Business in the early 1980s centred largely around
word processing and database maintenance, combined with computer-based
administrative services.
HCS
staff numbers fluctuated in the 1980s and 1990s, reaching six at
times. The offices moved as required to accommodate these changes
and computer equipment changed frequently as more powerful, faster
and versatile hardware became available.
HCS
largely uses Apple computers, but also frequently uses and is comfortable
with PCs and Windows work. Business software is upgraded frequently
and the latest operating systems are installed once they have proved
themselves reliable.
HCS
can usually respond very quickly to a request for artwork, design,
typesetting, database preparation and maintenance, spreadsheet construction,
map and other leaflet layout and production, genealogical charting
and many other computer services. We're not the biggest but we are
among the most versatile, and offer a quality and personalised service.
